Cabinet resolution Preset (horizontal resolution)

Vertical resolution is calculated automatically based on the cabinet's physical height/width ratio.

Width (px)

Height (px)

Vertical resolution is calculated automatically based on the cabinet's physical shape (square = same as horizontal, rectangular 0.5×1m = double).

Ports and wiring chainsi Screen refresh rate

60Hz 50Hz 30Hz

Maximum port capacity is calculated by the formula 936,000,000 / (refresh rate × 24). At 60Hz that's 650,000 px; at lower frequencies it's higher (50Hz → 780,000 px, 30Hz → 1,300,000 px). MX processors (COEX) use 950,000,000 / (refresh rate × 24) per NovaStar: 659,722 px at 60Hz.

Calculated for an 8-bit input. For a 10/12-bit input switch to the Pro tab — there the port capacity is reduced accordingly (10-bit halves it).

Input bit depth

Headroom (port capacity reserve)

An extra safety margin below the nominal port capacity for the selected frequency — the app will automatically recalculate the layout and port count based on the reduced limit. A 10/12-bit input is set separately in the Pro tab.

Chain pattern

Sequential Snake (alternating)

"Snake" alternates the direction of each successive line within the block — a shorter, more practical cabling path.

Processor / sending card NovaStar model

Checks: total pixels and width/height against the processor's input limit, ports needed against the ports on the unit, and the load of each port. Capacities are nominal (60Hz, 8-bit) — verify against the NovaStar spec sheet.

Backup (redundancy) Draw backup lines

Backup connection

Ports per sending unit

The backup cable connects to the LAST cabinet of each chain (red "R" marker), so if a cable or cabinet in the middle of the chain fails, the rest is fed from the other end. Redundancy itself is enabled in NovaLCT — the .scr file carries only the main mapping, with main cables on the port numbers shown here.
